Children's Privacy Policy

AXIO Kids is designed for children ages 6-11. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Key principle: Parents control their child's account. Children cannot sign up directly—only a parent or guardian can create and manage a child's learning profile.

From Parents:

• Email address (for account and notifications)
• Password (securely hashed, never stored in plain text)
• Display name

About Children (provided by parent):

• Display name — Used to personalize the learning experience
• Date of birth — Used to verify age eligibility and select age-appropriate content
• Grade level (optional) — Helps calibrate starting difficulty

Learning Activity (collected automatically):

• Problems attempted and answers given
• Accuracy and time spent
• Skill progress and mastery levels
• Streaks and session timestamps

• Email addresses
• Photos, videos, or audio recordings
• Precise location data
• Device identifiers for advertising purposes
• Social media accounts
• Any information beyond what is needed for learning

We use the information collected to:

• Provide personalized math practice at the right difficulty level
• Track learning progress and skill mastery
• Generate progress reports for parents
• Improve our educational content and methods
• Maintain streaks and achievements

We do NOT use children's information for:

• Behavioral advertising
• Selling or renting to third parties
• Building marketing profiles
• Any purpose unrelated to education

We do not share children's personal information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

We may use service providers (such as hosting and database services) who process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations to protect children's privacy.

We retain children's learning data for as long as the child's profile is active. This allows us to maintain progress history and provide continuity in learning.

When a parent deletes a child's profile, we delete all associated learning data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized data (which cannot identify any child) may be retained for educational research purposes.

As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:

• Review — View all information we have about your child
• Edit — Update your child's profile information
• Delete — Request deletion of your child's profile and all data
• Refuse — Decline further data collection (by deleting the profile)
• Withdraw consent — At any time, for any reason

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect children's information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit and at rest
• Secure authentication systems
• Regular security assessments
• Access controls limiting who can view data
• Employee training on children's privacy

If we make material changes to how we collect or use children's information, we will notify parents by email and request new consent before implementing those changes.
