What it means

Example
A trail is 3 miles to the lake and 2 miles from the lake to the campsite. The whole route is 3 + 2 = 5 miles.
Watch for
A nautical mile is a different unit equal to 1,852 metres. This card does not define nautical miles or historical survey miles.
