Mode
The value or category that occurs most often in a data set.

What it means
Tally every answer and look for the tallest tally. The answer with the greatest count is a mode. If several answers tie for the greatest count, each of them is a mode. Under this card’s elementary convention, there is no mode when every answer occurs equally often.
Remember it
Mode is the most-often answer.
Example
The favourite colours are red, blue, blue, green, and blue. Blue occurs 3 times, more than any other colour, so blue is the mode.
Watch for
The mode does not have to be a number, and it is not found by adding or ordering all the values.
Common mix-up
Mode means most frequent in statistics. It does not mean a device setting, a style, or a way of operating.
Exact meaning
A mode is any value or category with the greatest frequency in a data set. A data set may have one mode, several modes, or no mode when no value or category occurs more often than all the others.
