Product
A product is the result of multiplying numbers or expressions, or the multiplication expression itself.
What it means
Multiplication combines equal groups or scales a value. The product is what that multiplication makes. In 4 × 7 = 28, the numbers 4 and 7 are factors and 28 is the product.
Remember it
Factors go into a multiplication; the product comes out.
Example
Eight bags hold 6 shells each. The multiplication is 8 × 6, so the product is 48 shells.
