Trapezoid
A trapezoid is a four-sided shape with at least one pair of opposite sides parallel.

What it means
Look for four straight sides, then check the opposite sides. If at least one opposite pair runs in the same direction and never meets, the shape is a trapezoid here. Its colour, size, tilt, and whether it has a second parallel pair do not change that.

Four sides; find a never-meeting opposite pair.
Example
A parallelogram has two pairs of opposite sides that are parallel. Because two pairs still includes at least one pair, the parallelogram also fits AXIO’s definition of a trapezoid.
Watch for
A four-sided shape with no parallel pair is not a trapezoid under this convention. Some books use “trapezoid” for exactly one parallel pair, so check the agreed definition.
Common mix-up
“At least one pair” does not mean “exactly one pair.” A second parallel pair does not disqualify the shape here.
Exact meaning
A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with at least one pair of opposite sides parallel. AXIO uses the inclusive US convention, so parallelograms—including rectangles and squares—also count as trapezoids.
