Watch: Watch whether the learner uses both the Total row and Art column: decisive work is 76 − 31 = 45, then 45 − 18 = 27. Entering 45 shows the learner found the Art margin but did not finish at the Afternoon–Art intersection.

Misread: A response of 18 usually means the learner stayed in the Art column but read the Morning row; 31 or 32 means a copied margin, while 45 means stopping at the intermediate Art total. The scored answer is the single cell where Afternoon and Art meet.

Curriculum: This task uses a two-way categorical count table as two additive partitions of the same whole. It scores reading row and column headers and deriving one missing intersection count from column and grand totals with subtraction within 100.
